Friday's Flowers & Island Views

First flower on our walk.

Jasmine smells like pancakes.

Yucca, the sentential.

So still this morning.

Tide was going out.

Love the Walnut look of this shell.

My darling neighbors.

Jekyll Island Georgia

After a busy week at the High Point market we took respite on Jekyll Island.

Found a dollar on the beach.

Then the waves came and washed it away.

Looking back on the barrier island.

Very remote.

Dinner on the inter-coastal.

A beautiful still sunset.

A photo at every angle.

The tide was out and so were the little black beetles.

The whole island is so peacefull.

Suttons Bay Artwalk Fall Finale

Marcia Metzen was our featured artist for the evening. Marcia rolled in after a long day at Sterling Law Offices in Empire.

Her display of photography brought rave reviews from strollers through out the night.

SRS Painting was our pour er this evening. He poured hard ciders from Good Neighbor Organic Vineyard. The pretzels and mustard were a big hit.

Lisa Wittig came in after working all day at Larkin Insurance where she is ahead of commercial and personal risk insurance.

This darling lady is Patrecia Osbun. She came out and brought shopping bags after working all day at Grand Traverse Packaging.

My sweet husband carved our pumpkins.

A great time was had by all.

Friday's Flowers

I just keep deadheading and they just keep blooming!

I have been known to have November's roses from my garden on my Thanksgiving table with a little bit of Cedar for greens.

I bought spring bulbs to plant on Sunday. I love to see the colors from my windows.

It was a great season for Zinnias this year.

There is no blue like Morning Glory blue!

Connie Timmer Paintings

Alyce Hoban, who has the Treeline Gallery, brought this artist down to the shop.

Jackie the decorator, who works for Alyce, thought these paintings would look good in my shop.

I love them, not too serious and the colors are fresh.

Connie captures the simple beauty of the region.

These paintings are a welcomed addition to the shop. Thank you ladies for thinking of me!

Getting Ready For The High Point Market

I am getting ready for a new look at Anchor Cottage 2012.

I tear sheets out all summer to put together in my book of inspirations!

I snip, layer, glue and before I know it my new look is appearing before my eyes.

I can't remember where I tore all of these pictures from, so please forgive my lack of credits.

This book helps me keep my focus when at the High Point Market.

My new look is white, natural wood and primary colors.

Fresh and light, blue and white, cozy lakeside cottage is the look I'm aiming for.
