I love this dress, not for the beginning of summer, but for the ripe, sunlite days of August.

I will be ordering this book asap.

Before we leave the summer day, take time to enjoy the brights of a sunlite season. All too soon the time will come to deepen our yellows to gold and our pinks to rose as the sunflowers bow their heads and the rose hips nod in the deepening sun.

The Faded Days Of Summer

It is the fourth Sunday in August and the sun is low in the sky.

My highlights are faded and my jeans are fading to a soft chambray blue.

The Geraniums are faded to a soft shade of red.

The light is so soft this time of year illuminating everything from the side.

Pretty soon it will be time for fall to show it's true spots in all it's russets and coffee browns as the leaves cover the putting greens.

Zucchinis, Tomatoes, Peaches and Apricots, the oranges and greens of autumn harvest.

The bluest skies at the end of summer.

A Very Peaceful Sunday

We changed beach location this week. The wind was coming off the water so we turned our backs to the east and faced, inland, west!

Looking across at our usual beach.

Can anyone guess where we landed?

Summer has been a little chilly. If you are someone like me, who loves to swim in the Great Lake, the great whirlpool,  water temperatures have been good but the land temps have been in the high sixties and low seventies. With a late start on summer and quite a few rain days, swimming has been slim this summer.

This coming Sunday we are taking our sweatshirts and rock shoes to try a new beach. Sandwiches and Fritos, something interesting to read and we will be ready to head out.

The Captains Quarters

Navy, white and brass, makes me think, "nautical style".

A masculine look that the first mate would like.

This was a fun bed to put together.

Simple, fresh and fun!

Suttons Bay Sidewalk Sales

I am ready! 40 % off of anything on this table starting today!

We have Emma Bridgewater, bedding, rugs, candles, Sea Bags, and a whole lot more!

There is a 10' putting green/rug for 40% off...Christmas is coming!!

Pretty quiet, here in the village, this morning.

These sidewalks will be crawling come Friday morning.

Sort of our last hurrah for the season.

Then back to being "a crook in a road in a cow town".
