Anchor Cottage is changing location next month...

...so the buying trip was skinny...

... I only had time to start one watercolor...

...but we did bring home 31 fabric samples and a box full of indoor/outdoor swatches that will knock your socks off...

...the "Found" items were select picks...

...my honey has a new vintage sign for his collection...

...as well as artwork with a specific message...

...picked up a book for Jackie the decorator...

Next buying trip will be for the new location! Can't wait to show you what I am doing with the new decorating shop!

The Atlantic Ocean As Seen By Me

Macro lens in motion! Couldn't get too close, to take the shot, the fragrance was distancing! 

Shadows on a walk, down the beach, to see what they could see. 

Whales tails, reflected, on the shore.

A far sighted view of the ocean blue.

A shore bird caught in mid-stride. 

There he goes, melting into the seashore again!

I'll retain the ocean blue, in my mind, all winter long.

Charleston's Plantings

Lush is the description I give to Charleston's plantings. 

Early November window boxes overflowing with foliage. 

The greenery loves the moist, steamy existence. 

Trees that survived the earthquake, fire and war, a foot print to walk around. 

Looking up into the window dressed in pretty vases and candlesticks. 

Ha ha! Surprise!

Up close and intricate. 

One room wide!

Ivy trimmed around this scroll work on a foundation. 

No doubt this tree's roots drink directly from the river.

That wraps up my thirty two hours in Charleston. Steve tried to distract me by walking up King Street for all the clothing boutiques but my heart was on Meeting Street.

We ate at great restaurants, shopped darling boutiques, and took the carriage ride to hear all the historical stories of this elder city.
I would love to go back and explore some more!

Iron Works And Courtyards

Thin, narrow, ribbons of iron allows the air to flow through and diffuse's the view of the private space. 

Gates and fences, blocking intrusion in an artful manner. 

Leaving something for the imagination to ponder, where does that path lead? 

The long, tall windows behind the lacy fretwork.

Won't find me straddling this enclosure. 

Cool brick and flagstone alleys behind scrolled gates. 

All different with similarities of who the artists were.

I would like to say Happy Birthday to my mother, she would have turned eighty four today. She traveled to Charleston in the mid seventies and I can remember how remarkable she thought the architecture was.
