This is a 1930's Tramp Art fence up in Omena. It had fallen into disrepair and Steve took it apart and rebuilt it using as much of the original material he could. Sign of the times art! Using what was available, sticks, and making it decorative at the same time.

This is what happens to Hoot's tools when he leaves them in the kitchen drawer!

Log home living is always cozy rain or shine. The Cedar logs maintain coolness when it's hot and hold the woodstove warmth when it's cold. We have extra chairs hanging around on the front porch when company comes.

We are having so much rain here on the Leelanau Peninsula this June. Our Forrest, here at Hoot's Holler, looks like a jungle! My husband built this log home 25 years ago. He was a young pup:) He hung a block in a tree and would tie one end of the rope to a log and the other end of the rope was tied to his Vega, then he'd drive up his driveway until the log was where he wanted to place it and he'd drop it down in place and go get another log. His middle name is not Lincoln.
