Treasures Along The Atlantic Seaboard

Standing in a very pleasant shop...

...I opened this book and what did I fine? Low Country Chairs all in a line!

French Fermob Bistro chairs, in tangerine that I adore, I have them in my garden right outside my door.

Sitting across a desk in West Palm I spied this brass lantern from Belfast, I wrote the check!

North Carolina pottery with the prettiest glazes made their way to the freshwater coast.

Junk shop finds, everyone needs a book on Good Luck...

...and a little industrial spying brought bits and pieces of inspiration home to the shop.

Never know what you will find when you can take five minuets of your time and just look around you. Seriously, I mean put your glasses on...lol. Had fun going into small shops, along the way, to see what other shop keepers sell to their customers.

So Many Good Found Items!

Scored on colored glass this buying trip.

Loved all the colors.

Spring fabrics.

Blues and whites.

All the props that make a home.

I just love mixing the "Found" items with the new product in the shop. Helps to create an eclectic, layered look for your home. Working toward an opening date, have to get the wallpaper hung first. Hope I bought enough rolls!

Waiting In Line!

Every year I have product lined up on the dining table, waiting to be hauled to the shop. The accumulation of hand picked pieces, all winter long, add up.

Great big channel markers and woven fenders...

Teak mats and a lobster trap!

Favorite amber red net float...hmm how about making it into a lighting fixture.

Brought back a large yellow float for a customer, if she is reading this blog!!

Have a cozy weekend, fire in the fireplace, a good book to finish and Sunday dinner!

Good Morning! Being funny is letting your genius out of the bag. Who cannot relate to these visual chuckles? The last one hits very close to home as I have a best friend that is that much taller than me! Have a fun weekend and "I will see you in the funnies on Sunday" is what my Great Grandma Morgan would say.

"O" For Originals

The guests were treated to a semi- private performance, last night, at the Wild Wing in Jacksonville Florida. The Fellas were warming up for the big gig, tonight, in Macon Georgia.

The band is sporting a tight instrumental core. Alex danced his fingers across his frets in a measured frenzy and added his vocals to the originals!

Rolling off the tour nap, yes I mean nap, was John setting the beat to the world as he hears it in his head. He plays from the center of his being.

Extremely approachable to the audience, the  guys  reminisced with the crowd, each person recognizing where they were when they first came under their spell.

Coming in from Orlando, Alabama, Aurburn, and St. Augustine, the hostess at the front said, "I been hearing a lot of goods things about this band," and was surprised that the band had a fan base this large!

On the marquee, takes two lines to introduce him! His new original was so good and we were all aware of being treated to the originals off the new album, coming soon, as we recognized the depth of experience.

"He keeps his pants up with a piece of twine, because you're mine please pull the twine!" Ha Ha not only the Johnny Cash licks but the Johnny Cash growl. Anthony Orio with a smile, a wink and dimples to boot.

"Like A Rock!" He performs consistently, gig after gig, reading the listeners with his sharp wit and wisdom. He guides his band members to stay on their toes as they don't know what can be played next! Proud Mary to Alice Copper he entertained everyone there.

Give him some, Christopher Halson Griffiths, my son.

Give it up on the bass face that he makes when he is thinking about what he can play next.

The green view. Blue light, red lights and what, no party lights? It was an interesting venue to shoot.

The band stepped up to the chance to play a lot of originals, old and new, to the fans that were smiling up to them from the floor. It was a very intimate night for us all. As you can tell, nothing has changed...Christopher made the remark that he only sees his mother in bars! Back in the day I sat on the basement stairs and listened to the band play a way long time ago. I'm still listening to every word he sings.

pink and yellow. I'm not a fan of pink, but I would still love to hang out in this space.:

The design world is certainly working overtime this spring. Designing outside the box, so to say. The color combinations sing a bright and cheerful song. Textures and trims abound. Wallpaper is back. Large geometric prints are all around. This "boho" look that has been simmering on the back burner is finally at a boil. Time to run with it, take it from a design trend and incorporate it into a classic that can be built on for years to come. I'm ready, but will wait to see when northern Michigan embraces this decorating look. We always seem to be months behind the rest of the world!

Have a sunny Saturday!
