This Explains It!!

"I am the left brain. I am a scientist. A mathematician. I love the familiar. I categorize. I am accurate. Linear. Analytical. Strategic. I am practical. Always in control. A master of words and language. Realistic. I calculate equations and play with numbers. I am order. I am logic. I know exactly who I am."
"I am the right brain. I am creativity. A free spirit. I am passion. Yearning. Sensuality. I am the sound of roaring laughter. I am taste. The feeling of sand beneath bare feet. I am movement. Vivid colors. I am the urge to paint on an empty canvas. I am boundless imagination. Art. Poetry. I sense. I feel. I am everything I wanted to be."

I understand this concept. My son, Christopher, is all right brain. My son, Timothy, is exactly half left, half right brain, perfect pitch!!

It Ain't Vegas Baby

My path into my shop.
Thank you for blowing it out yesterday my darling husband.

Anchor Cottage is open today! This is how you get to the shop! This path, up from M-22, just keeps getting narrower and narrower.

The primary colors look great against all the snow.

See the pair of Yeties in my Uwharrie Chairs?
They are left over from last Saturday!

They have to put the snow somewhere!!

These poor fishermen are from Orlando, Florida.

The guy next door is running out of room to move the snow off his driveway.
Like I always say, "the sky's the limit"!

Anchor & Paint

Welcome to our studio.
My husband built this alcove on the south east side of the garage.

This is where we go to renovate pieces and give them a second life. It's warm and cozy with baseboard heat. We have a wool carpet on the floor to keep us up off the cement slab.

The windows are to die for. They are long and tall and let in the southeast light that fills the whole studio. Originally the windows were french doors with the sills rotted off. Steve reconfigured them.

My first project is to paint the windmill shutters for Steve to put up on either side of the kitchen windows. It is a joy to work in such a beautiful space. Ben and Joe like it too.

I Spy Blue, Green & White

The Crystal River.
 A painting by Conrad Heiderer.

Cobalt blue and lime green glassware with white snow.

"A Leap Of Faith" Our family crest!! ( Mine and Steve's)

A Connie Timmer landscape.

The Mackinaw Bridge plate designed by G. Mennen Williams.

Anchor Chair painted by Tim Griffiths.

A Lake Michigan painting by yours truly!

Sea Bag bucket.

I was reading decor8 daily and she came up with the "3 Color Study Exercise".  Thought I would give it a try and see what blue, green and white color trail I leave in my tracks every morning. I see that yellow tries to sneak in every so often and, being it's winter, we'll let it!
