Introducing Annechovie

Last November I went to Borders to treat myself to a UK decorating magazine and instead bought an Australian decorating magazine. There I found Anna Spiro who was doing "wall clusters" with different works of art including Annechovie. I then tracked Anne down in Naples Florida and purchased her work for my store. Anne is from Michigan, her grandfather is the sports commentator, Ernie Harwell! Small world:-)

Whirlygig Day

The boats are just flying outside the backdoor. Pretty windy today. Moving my props around to make room for new merchandise. Can't wait to start posting pictures of the new "finds".

Emma Bridgewater

Emma Bridgewater tableware are my favorite dishes . She hails from England. I am getting together my big spring order for the season from her. She has beautiful new designs. New flowers, new birds, new shapes. The colors bring much joy to my shop.

Indiana Pottery

This is Frank Crosby. I love his pottery. Everything he creates is useful and when his wife, Nancy, adds the recipes, the bread bakers fly out of the shop. She has a new one this year for Brie! Can't wait to try it out.

@ Money's art studio

Finding these two has been a gift from God as they have such a soothing confidance about them. You leave their studio feeling very relaxed. They work very hard on their craft, always inovating, paint colors and carvings. When I arrived today I found some pieces that had me surprised. I always come away w/a body of work that cheers my shop. Thank you God. When blessings come your way you need to recognize them!

A South Carolina Spring

Wisteria hanging down, thick with purple scent, yellow Forsythia at your feet, the pink of the Red Buds against the green of the new leaves. Need I say more? Oh yea, the smell of the pine sap in the hot sun, oh yea:)

Anastasia Island and Beyond

This is our playground, the water was a little chilly, but the sandbar water was warm for wadding. Picked up alot of Cockle Shells, might cover the fireplace with them. Bye bye Atlantic Seaboard we are headed north to Lake Michigan and sandy beaches. We have the best of both worlds. Thank you God.

Happy Easter

We will be on the road first thing Easter morning, driving to Spartanburg North Carolina. Cross the Appalachian Mountians on Monday and roll into East Bernstadt Kentucky early afternoon. Some bunnie sent us an Easter card! Thank you:)

The $60 Sink Top

Been trying to get a good shot of the bathroom but it dosen't have alot of room to stand back and shoot a picture! I thought the walnut table top made a great sink top for the price. I can either paint the plumbing black or skirt the sink to hide the pipes. But they really don't show because you can't stand back far enough to see them:-)

Lynlee Sky Yellow

Steve painted the front of the house yesterday. We chose the yellow because his sister painted her door going outside from her porch this yellow and it was so cheerful. The colors are as follows; Sherwin Williams Butter -up, Respite Blue and Dover White. Steve's favorite white is Dover, he uses it all the time! Click on the picture for a close up of the rafter tails, Steve is painting them yellow all the way around the house, such a sweet detail.

Three Days Left

Packing all the breakables and textiles in the Jeep. The hard pieces i'll pack in the Suburban with the dogs. I always tell my customers to buy what you love and it will all work together. As I start to pack up I realize that that is good advice! Look at this vignette that was bought at different times in separate shops. I love the play of colors and shapes together. Reminds me that I painted my walls Hot Pink and Begonia Orange along with the Khaki color in the "bedroom" at Anchor Cottage just before I left for Florida!
