Rocking The Gardens This Morning

The gardens are so lush this summer,
 down here in the Holler.

Antique sprinkler.

God's garden!

My garden is full of flowers that planted themselves!

The mix of plantings, mine or Mother Nature's makes for a colorful garden.

Throw in some orange french bistro chairs.

Blue Lobelia loves the moist, wooded surroundings.

Love the striking color combo.

Fresh.

Steve's garden.

Take a look at those lettuce trees!

These guys plant themselves.

The Trumpet Lilies are ten feet tall this year.

There are enough Hydrangeas for a wedding.

Every color goes with green.

"Paint me", it says.

I used a lot of green at the store this season and have carried the color over to my home.

The rich green is a good foil for so many different pops of colors.

Have a good weekend.

A Painted Floor

Too many rain days in a row!

My painter painted diamonds on my kitchen floor.

I love it.

Perfect floor application for a thirty year old,  hand cobbled,
arts and crafts, log home in the woods!!

Just Like Getting A New Coloring Book!

Standing on the ladder
to take this shot of the front table.

Taking a step back to see the entry,
 as a whole,
 from the customer's perspective.

Adding flash, even though there is enough natural light coming in the french doors, it adds brightness.

I like the iron and wood mix in the chairs around the table.

The size of these chairs allows me to
 accommodate a party of ten!

I sold the chandelier over the table the other day, which now gives me room for taller center pieces on the table.

Then another customer came in and
bought various pieces off the table.
So, time to shift the table decor.

I must have been sniffing the crayons again, but I just couldn't help myself, I am a color addict.
All the primaries, featuring Money's Folk Art, Emma Bridgewater, Baskets from Uganda, yellow placemats, red floral hurricanes, candles under glass...I love it all.

Playing With My Camera

Anchor Cottage Freshwater Decor in July.
The Anchor Cottage banner waving in the air.

Plenty of rain and cool nights
bring out the best flowers and foilage.

Working with my macro lense.

Good definition on the Daisies.

I love the Sweet Cherries in the Brighton Pottery bowl.

Macro, then, Super Macro.

Tough light exposure with the
high contrast of dark cherries and white bowl.

Just dropped my batteries in my cup of coffee!
 Splat splat..."oh sugar"!!

See you at the shop.

What Caught My Eye On A Saturday In July

The painting expands the width of the bedroom, so good!

Ruthie Sommers nailed it,
I like everything about this room.

That potting bench could come in handy, there are multiple tasks that could be done, potting and repotting African Violets, succulents in antique cream soup bowls, even just putting wreaths together.

Love the "under the eves" guestroom.

Julia has great ankles!
She, also, might like these red and white farm animal dish towels.

Take some time, this weekend, and look around to see what inspires you. Like I always say, "you never know where you will find your inspirations"!

That's a wrap for this week.
