Fabric Selections and Inspirations

This guestroom is softly colored, comfy and cozy. To freshen the decor up and keeping with the same furnishings I chose the following fabrics for duvets, slip covers and curtains.

For the duvet covers I picked out Flower Small Blue.

I had the ruffled sham on the bench to work with. I choose  Fern Wood Vintage for slipcovers on the pair of chairs.

The curtains in Topsy Turvey Red. Rather old fashion and whimsical, vintage children's pieces would be darling with this print.

Knowing this customer, I pulled this tear sheet for my inspiration.

I was drawn to the colors and the deer print for the guestroom. Couldn't find a fabric similar anywhere.

The three choices. I want to put the little rug in between the beds.

Topsy Turvey Red for curtains.

Fern Wood Vintage slip covers for the chairs.

Anchor Cottage Freshwater Decor

Well, it's the last week of January.

The down time has allowed me to move my props around, wash windows and dust.

I like the blue and yellow this time of year, so fresh.

Very handsome for your cabin entry.

Connie Timmer's paintings are fun. Would be great on a three season porch for some color.

I am sort of straddling the lakeside cabin look this season. Different from lakeside cottage! More woodsy and earth tones for the cabin look as compared to the white, red, green and blues for lakeside cottage.

Love the flat weave rug for the lakeside cabin, gives it a modern edge, freshens it up.

Who has more fun than Lonnie and Twyla Money? Their chickens are just a crackling.

Have a great weekend.

Making Pillows For Anchor Cottage Freshwater Decor

I made a pair of each of these pillows. I still have to stitch up the bottoms.

Looking out my window at the snow, thinking -15* wind chill is a good reason to stay inside and sew.

Working with what fabric and trims are available yields some very attractive combinations.

It's all about the color.

I made this little 10"x10" pillow.

I whipped these pillows up to be reversible!

Laying out the fabrics and see who calls to each other!

The reversible pillows:-)

My sewing throne.

My scrap chair.

I love my sewing space, it has great light and pretty surroundings.

I enjoy designing and sewing pillows, it's the best little spot of color, you can create, for an accent.

Wedding Games Winner

Honest to Pete, I love opening my computer up, first thing in the morning, and finding fabulous news!!

Christopher and Mary Ann submitted their story, "In dreams and love, there are no impossibilities." Along with pictures, to be voted upon to win, "Wedding Games" and they won!!

She and Chris choose Famous Dave's to cater their wedding.

Mary Ann says, "Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale!" Say it 3 times with a southern accent and apparently it comes true!!

Congratulations you two, you are sitting on a Shinning Star, so hold on to each other tight.
