Arbor Day Haul

Arbor Day was so lovely. Steve and I bushwhacked across central Michigan through the agricultural belt.

Went to Calico Corners in West Bloomfield to see if they had any fabric remnants.

Stopped in Owosso and cruised the antique shops.

I adore this plate I bought for Arbor Day!

Laid my haul out on my dinning room table and it made a really colorful group.

How much fun was that?

Ragtime The Musical

Thursday evening I had the pleasure to see, Ragtime, performed by the West Bloomfield High School drama group.

There were almost 100 students involved in this production.

I was invited by my brother John and his beautiful wife, Sita.

Every major singer had their music down pat.

With such a large cast it was amazing that they flowed along so seamlessly.

The costumes were very appropriate in pegging the races.

We had the white class.

The black class.

The shanty class.

The singing was very good.

This is the princess I came to hear sing.

And act!!

With such a large cast it was interesting to notice that there were not a lot of props.

Feels like Ellis Island.

The directer used this stair prop several different ways to make a huge statement.

Every time this group came out on stage, the colors were beautiful.

The play, "Ragtime" was written by E. L. Doctorow.

I wish I had a photo of the orchestra pit.

Funny, I recognize some of these looks on her face!

Vocal direction was by Sheryl Hauk.

Orchestra direction by Karl Stein.

Choreography by Courtney Kamen.

Starting at the show's trailers to the completion  of the production, so much energy was poured into the musical.

Costumes, tech crew, set design, sound design, lighting and music were astounding, coming from these young players.

Thank you for a performance well done.

I love you Kim.

Friday's Flowers Down In The Holler

Spring is just around the corner, down here, in the Holler!
One valiant Snow Drop.

Hens & Chickens appear between the leaves.

Hyacinths poking up through last years compost.

The Crocus are too chilly to open fully.

Found the Primroses!

Daffodils!

Oriental Poppies making their appearance.

Tulips in the rock garden.

Love the leaves on these Crocus.

Wild, spring Poppies in the natural garden.

Mother Nature said, to tell you, that she is working on Spring!

Have a nice weekend.

Anchor Cottage Is Open For The Season

April 6, 2013.

The bed is made with Pine Cone Hill Linens.

The pillows are made by me:-)

I took my primary color pills this week!!

Nautical themes all through the store.

Emma Bridgewater and Money's horses.

A store full of fun pieces to buy.

I keep reminding myself, blue and white and nautical, when I am buying for the shop.

I love this lamp on the marble table, looks so crisp and clean.

As I blog this post it is snowing outside.
Oh Brother!!
