In The Kitchen

juliasalbum.com

Sunday morning, drinking coffee and watching my husband make breakfast. As I sit in my kitchen thoughts of dinner pass through my mind...found this Salmon-Sriracha served on noodles in my "hungry" feed over on pinterest.

Then look what I found! I like this collection of this all wood table setting. Madcap Cottage Crewel Summer Cherry tablecloth and a center piece of green plants arranged on the wood platter in the center! Can you see it?

Next file over was my stove collection. Smeg appliances get me going. All of the Smeg appliances have me dancing. A little Bob Dylan from 1989 and maybe I'll roast the Salmon for dinner, tonight!!

Jamming glassware for the all wood table setting!

I like the crème and stainless finish and the curvy silhouettes of the appliances.  Love to dream of kitchen-ware while the sausage is frying and the husband is whipping the heck out of the eggs!

That's all I've got for a Sunday morning blog post. Enjoy your day and have a great week.

What Came Through My Feed This Week

"Lime Lake Road". This is a story about a man named Christopher. It is his Americana take, on his life, and what got him to this stage of his artistic career. There are some very meaningful songs on this album. Will be released March 30th. Check out the interview, at About Insider, for insights into his new music.

This is good to know. Small dry wall repair! Never know when the speaker falls off the stand and crashes into the wall and makes a hole, and your dad will be home from work in four hours.

Stashed away, I have enough tatting for a pair of pillow cases. Lovely edge for an extra element of design. Time to pull it out and sew it on! My friend, Jackie, gave it to me.

Speaking of Jackie, her kitchen looks a lot like this one, shown above. She has been working on runners for the floors. I like the topiaries and the lamp on the counter! I also like that there are no tiles, as lately, everyone wants a tiled backsplash. Instead, I would put small pieces of art along the perimeter of the counter. Maybe some botanical prints with pale yellow flowers.

Working on a laundry room closet. This is pretty snug! I appreciate the vintage utility sink and wallpaper used together in this small space. It's a work of art every time you open the doors!

At this moment, in the winter wonderland of my mind, I am designing a small green house as a place to start my seeds this spring. I like how the cement block path meanders through the structure and the galvanized rain barrel at the entry.

This is what I am really dreaming about in the winter wonderland of my mind!! Wishing I were at the beach.

Wear your mask, wash your hands and stay safe!

Phonetos

And just like that, Christmas is a memory, reflected in the rear view mirror of time.

The majestic Amaryllis have bloomed in all their glory.

A late Christmas present from Jackie the decorator! Fresh pasta from The Flying Noodle. If you love Mama Lu's, for tacos, this restaurant is just across the street for your Italian Pasta fix. So delicious!

Winter is here and what I wear are hand knit socks and Irish wool socks and Scottish Cashmere sweaters. Although, quite a lot of hand washing and drying in front of the wood stove. All worth it to be able to wear natural fibers to keep me warm and cozy.

A quick install of chair seats for a customer's home in the woods.

On my way back from errands I had an encounter with, I thought at the time, a Snowy Owl. (pictured above)

When I returned home I pulled my big book of North American Birds off the shelf and found plates for artic birds. It seems that it was a Gyrfalcon, that flew down next to me and made eye contact. I was floored, he was large and handsome with coal black eyes.

It seems like it is taking me forever to put the studio and show room back together. Deep organization and function are the main contributors taking up all the time. It will be worth it when I am finished.

The music is rocking and I am dancing! Tiny Little Movies by Will Hoge. Helps get the job done!!

Where did half of January go?

It's The Little Things

anna

It's the little things that make life special. Hand painted, scalloped edge, small bowls are fun and easy for a quick snack! They are just lovely!

Somewhere to stash my vacation savings for a whale of a great time!

Lack of southern road trips has me dreaming of Bone Fish restaurants. We also enjoy the pesto spread on Ciabatta bread when we stop there for food.

The seed catalogs are coming in hot and heavy! These Snapdragons are sweet and pretty!

pinterest

I didn't even know I needed one of these! What would you call it? (if I asked my husband to make me one)

It is the unexpected smalls that, when I come across them, delight me. Pink Snapdragons, matching dog and owner accessories, tea with Jackie using pretty plates for our scones. A hold the page thingy so I can take a bite of my sandwich while I am reading. Bang Bang Fish, at Bone Fish restaurant, after ten hours in the car driving eighty miles an hour!

What I pinned, this week, in my pinterest files.

Having a great start to this new year!

Happy New Year to me and you!
