Cutting my Hydrangeas

I cut my blue Hydrangeas but had to be careful because they had already set their buds for next year's flowers!

Good Harbor Beach

Looking north up the beach the umbrellas looked like colorful pinwheels stuck in the sand.

Delphinium Blue

This is one of my favorite pictures. The blue-pink shirt plays off the Delphinium Blue.

The Tin Men Are Coming

My husband is making tin men! He ordered antique enameled funnels for their hats and curved wrenches for the smile. Beer caps are the eyes and sardine cans are the feet. Look for these guys at Anchor Cottage in the spring.

A Harvest Table

We are waiting for the cooler nights to frost our grapes so we then can harvest and enjoy the vino.

Nautical Corner

I have a nautical corner in the store with all sorts of decorative items for a cottage on the beach. A yellow arrow to point the way, basket weave lanterns for light on a stormy day, sailboats, take one or two and don't forget a sail bag for you!

New Sea Bags Came Floating In

The crisp red, white and blue of these sea bags make me think of a day on Lake Michigan with white caps frosting the navy blue waters. Sailed around the world, recycled in Maine.

Autumn Sunflowers

As we drove through the county yesterday there were sunflowers waving their heads in the wind everywhere.

Customers love to watch these boats sail around and around in the wind. The whirlyboats with the stripe sails are the most popular!

I Love The Colors

This pair of Parrot lamps on the dark wood table appeal to me. The contrast is so rich. Add the warm colors of late summer and the nesting starts. The sun sets lower in the sky everyday lighting up the fields of corn across the way.

Hallelujah

Sylvia brought her new puppy in. Look at the smile on her face! Total pride and delight.

I need a collection of chairs in pretty colors and fabrics in my shop next spring. I just got in these inspirational prints by Annechovie, the artist w/the happy colors!

Branding Anchor Cottage

Yardsticks that say, "Anchor Cottage Freshwater Decor Suttons Bay MI, the pencils say Anchor Cottage in Red with Red anchors and the postcards have the red anchor. I also have postcard stamps behind the counter for sale:)

Sitting In My Chair Thinking

Thinking about what to bring into the mix at Anchor Cottage for fall. Orange ribbons on the brooms, silk leaves lying about, gourds, pumpkins and Indian Corn. Wood bowls and runners, candles and wine accessories, these are a few of my favorite things!
