Too Chilly Hillbilly!

Monday and Tuesday, of this week, it was two degrees with twenty mile an hour winds, which made it fifteen degrees below zero!

So, I have these marvelous, beveled pane, french doors upstairs that had never had any window treatment done because we didn't want to hide the beauty of the doors.

To make a long story short, I looked in the fabric pile until I found enough muslin pieces for the lining and the correct yardage for a door wall. Pieced it all together and hung it on a dowel rod on hooks!! The panels cut the wind chill in half.

I then spent the rest of Tuesday cutting out hearts and stapling them together to make garlands.

Cabin fever down in the Holler!!

Anchor Cottage Is Snowed Closed For The Winter!

It all started with the snow-blower or snow blower, either way the snow-blower threw down his cables and belts, broke his key and said to Steve, "if you don't tell her to close I will!" So Steve came into Anchor Cottage and said, "the snow-blower broke." Enough said.

So I took a look around.

The sign was half visible.

The entrance was drifted shut.

At Home was open.

Martha's was closed.

The snow was half way up my back door.

The snow-blower was right.

So I packed her up, fabrics, catalogs and pillow forms.

See you April 1st, 2014. It's going to be a great season!

Winter Slide Show

Cabin fever has reigned heavily this 5 week month of January.

We have double snow shovels at every entrance.

Snow shoes, tire chains, plow truck....

Thank goodness for the plow truck.

Nice and warm in my studio.

Let your mind wander.

Make pretty things out of your garden shed!

How do you like the size of that hot glue gun!! lol

Says it all.

My husband went to Michaels.

A little looksy to the north, brrr.

A look to the south.

Oh, thank God, there is the snow plow.

Snow snow everywhere I go.

The color snow.

If I told you we lived in the Alps, would you believe me?

Vertical, grey, trunks of trees with no leaves.

This helps keep us warm and cozy.

184 inches of snow and counting.

All powder snow at an average 8 degrees Fahrenheit with 20 to 30 mile an hour wind chill of 20 degrees below.

Icing on the gingerbread house.

Spring is coming and so is Florida!!!

Can you see me walking in "sand shoes" on the sand?

We may need the cord that is still buried in the snow and hasn't been stacked yet.

Winter work.
