The Last Week Of November

Had a nice breakfast with this beautiful couple.

Drove to the top of the peninsula to watch the sunset spread it's pink glow over Lake Michigan.

The pink glow spread across the water to North Fox Island.

Stood in my back room fondling my fabrics!

My darling husband chose this fabric for our antique Victorian sofa.

I chose this fabric for our antique Victorian sofa!! I really could go either way, but I do love the softness of the blue and creme.

I brought home folded remnants and end bolts from North Carolina for resale in my shop.

I have an off white leather ottoman that I want to cover just the top of in this fabric.

I have been pricing and hanging 186 fabric swatches. Anchor Cottage now sells cut yardage!

Here it is, December 1st....time to hit the ground running.

8th Annual Christmas Open House At Anchor Cottage

Stuffed our urns with cedar, pine and red branches.

Set the table pretty with Portmeirion and Amaryllis in copper pots.

Served champagne and orange juice with lime jello cake. Light and refreshing for a Sunday afternoon affair.

Working On A Cottage

Last spring I had the pleasure of accessorising this cottage.

The owner had chosen this blue for the outside accents on the home. I snagged her color and painted the anchor and oars for outside her front door and planted pink Geraniums and orange Impatiens with flags for accent. Added the sailor knot mat in front of the door.

Nantucket beach look was what I was aiming for.

Then she had me accessorize the guest room working around these two red chairs with gold running through them.

Using a round mirror and blue and white plates I mimicked the Oriel window in the hall.



It was tough working with the red chairs because the yellow walls made them look brick orange. So I went to the old stand by, blue, white and yellow. Love the blue and white lamps with the blue and white quilt and pretty hand made pillows.
